TikTok Starts testing links in bios

TikTok begins testing links in bios
One of the most used entertainment apps nowadays is TikTok, a short-form, a video-sharing app that allows users to create and share 15-second videos, on any topic.

It provides users with a wide selection of sounds and song snippets, along with the option to add special effects and filters. In addition to this, users are allowed to add their phone’s video on TikTok directly.

Now there’s something new for all TikTok users. It appears the company is now experimenting with ways for it and its users to monetize their audiences on the app. Didn’t get?

Don’t worry! Let me explain it. TikTok has actually begun a limited test of a feature that lets users add links to their bios and posts, which can direct audiences to products or services. Sounds exciting, no?

The testing is being conducted via few influencers in the US, and this could be its first move to help users (and brands) make monetised content on the app.

What this feature will do is letting viewers click on the link inside the video or ‘in the bio’ and get directed to a shopping page.

However, this is not confirmed yet, or no official announcement has been made so far. So we are taking this speculation lightly. Marketer Fabian Bern posted a video showing off how the social commerce URL feature in videos work, with a shoppable short-form video where clicking inside video will redirect you to the product shown, for users to buy.

If it becomes super easy to make money on TikTok, we’ll see more creators flocking toward the site.

TikTok has become one of the fastest growing social media platforms in the world and has more than a billion users on its platform.
